Guest neortic1 Posted June 3, 2008 Posted June 3, 2008 I am driving a xsara 2.0 HDi Automatic. I wonder if it is normal that the lock up from the automatic gear box only starts functioning (after what i figure) the motor has reached a certain temperature. When below about 10 deg C the lock up does not engage before after a certain period of driving. When below zero, this can take up to about 2 miles. I can not find any info on this, and wonder if this is how it should be functioning. Any suggestions??? Quote
kfk Posted June 4, 2008 Posted June 4, 2008 probably a function of the gearbox that assists to bring the oil up to operating temperature quicker...and possibly to assist with warming the engine up quicker to ensure it is meeting emmision regulations. Quote
