frank in wales Posted June 6, 2008 Posted June 6, 2008 I have just replaced the front brake pads but find that the rubbers around the pistons are torn. Is ther a repair kit for the calipers, or will I need to consider buying new calipers or any other ideas please ? Car is Xantia 1.9 diesel M reg, and apart from the problems of breaking plastic clips on the clutch pedal it has been fantastic, comfortable, feels very safe and importantly usually about 50 M.P.G. ? Some binding on the brakes since the pads were replaced, some heat in the discs that I don,t think was there before, I am currently re-checking M.P.G. to see if it is affected by friction drag Quote
kfk Posted June 6, 2008 Posted June 6, 2008 Citroen dod do repair kits for the brake calipers....they start at about £25 per side....it has more than the dust cover in it. As for brakes binding.....make sure you have located the lug on the rear of the pad with the piston...if you dont they sit pissed and wont release properly. Quote
