Guest Shino Posted June 17, 2008 Posted June 17, 2008 Morning All,Wonder if anyone can help. For the last couple of days a slight whirring noise has been coming from the engine when i am actively driving (Not whilst stationary or depressed clutch). Yesterday whilst driving home the Engine Management Light came on and I lost power, needed to restart the car approx 4 or 5 times to be able to resume driving.Once home I let the car cool down and put some more water in, hence the light disappeared. 30 minutes later I left the house and the same thing happened again, once it reaches a certain temperature the light comes on and disappears once the engine has cooled and been restarted. I am thinking Water Pump maybe? Thanks in advance. Shino Quote

Hi Andy,Many thanks for your reply, it took approx 1 litre and its petrol. The whirring is now happening even when the engine is cold. I do not have the problem with the Engine Management light anymore as I do not think it was related. Quote
Johndouglas Posted June 19, 2008 Posted June 19, 2008 The wirring noise could be the fans operating. How often do you need to top up the coolant? Quote
