810_man Posted June 17, 2008 Posted June 17, 2008 I just bought a -95 ZX Reflex Image 1.4i. Headlight wires were burned. I opened the wiring harness and insulated or replaced the wires. This didn't help. If I connect the battery, the engine tries to start itself. I already tried disconnecting the steering lock, it didn't help. The problem was there before I touched the wiring harness. I am quite sure I insulated all the wires. There are still a few unconnected wires left. Any advice is greatly appreciated. Quote
Guest Chris N Posted June 22, 2008 Posted June 22, 2008 First port of call , take the kick panel off under the steering wheel , disconnect the iginition switch wiring and then connect the battery , hopefully just the barrel has gone. Quote
Shemer Posted June 26, 2008 Posted June 26, 2008 Did you check the harness part goes towards starter motor? looks like there's a short in there. Was the car starting by itself even before you touched the harness, or just the burnt wiring was there? Quote
