Hi folks, I was directed here by a member of another owners club forum Terry1100 (Piaggio X9 Maxi Scooter). Thanks Terry. Anyway I've just bought a brand new Berlingo Multispace 1.6i Desire and take delivery in a couple of weeks.

My name's Bob and happily married to Karen 21 years today in fact. We have two border collies and are hoping tho move from Cornwall to Wiltshire as soon as I sell my bungalow here. I'm 51 and unable to work because of a dodgy ticker.

Looking forward to the new car immensely. Old car is a Vauxhall Agila and I have a Piaggio X9 250sl scooter as well.

Hi Bob,

Good to see you here as well.

This used to be a very busy forum but dissapeared off-line for a while. Now it's back it seems a lot quieter -maybe we just need the new blood.

We''ll be alright with another petrol onwer as well - the tractor drivers get a bit vocal about their fuel consumption (or lack of it) every now and then.

The test drive was in the 2.0l HDi but I decided on the 1.6 petrol version as my mileage would never cover the investment in a diesel. My present car is 5 years old and only done 23K and when I move to Wiltshire that annual is likely to drop by between 1K and 1.5K.

Hi,
Welcome to the forum and 1.6 Desire ownership!...A great choice! :(
With the ever increasing price of diesel due to tax, unless you're doing mega miles it isn't worth the extra outlay in my opinion!
The 1.6 16v petrol is generally a nice refined unit and mine has loosened up considerably over the last few thousand miles.
Have you ordered any extras?...We went for the aircon and have been glad of it over the last couple of months!
This forum was quite busy last year, but because of it's disappearance for a few months a couple of times, it's become like a ghost town!
Cheerz.

I decided against the aircon. Again as my mileage will be low I couldn't justify the cost. Most trips will be domestic with the odd 500 mile round trip a couple of times a year. Also I have air conditioning on my maxi scooter, I just open the helmet visor or put on my open face helmet.

Thanks for passing on the link to this forum Terry and I see another of the X9ers has joined. Maybe we can help to resurrect this forum.

Hiya!

Most people move from Wiltshire *to* Cornwall!

This forum has been quiet of late, maybe we should try and contact ex members and let em know it's still here?........

Well it's all to do with finance really and we want to be closer to my wife's family. My parents and younger bro are dead and daughter is married so it's time to up sticks. Hoping to sell my bungalow for £212500 and buy something considerably cheaper in Wilts.

Bob.
