Hi there guys.. I got meself a Citroen ZX 1.4i Aventager about 1 year ago. no major problems!

but now (the last 14 days) I have found alot of oily goo (gray/slightly brown) in the coolant reservoir..

Noticed when the car was overheating badly and the cooler was cold (no water flowing)

So I sucked all the water out of the system and refilled it..

About 1 week later there was a lot of goo in the reservoir again! There is no water in the oil (I'm pritty sure about it that is) but I HAVE lost some oil I noticed over the last fhew weeks..

Anyone knows what might be the problem?

I will go to a skilled friend of mine tomorrow and try to solve the problem if possible.. Will Keep you informed In case someone else have the same problem (Haven't found a lot of threads out there that could help me)

-Edit-

BTW. I have had some stalling problems.. small ones at first (also before the goo in the water ) but then 3 days ago after I just filled the car from 1/16 tank (really low at least) to full, it stalled completely 10 km from home.. so had a friend come toe me home.. tryed to start it for 2 days till the bat died.. the day after we tryed to get to the fuel pump to check it.. it was running as it should.. so jump started it and it just ran..

Don't know if it has anything to do with the oil in the water.. could it be so?

-Edit-

Oh yea! also my fuel gauge comes and goes ? :S

Ordered a new head gasket.. gonna switch it this weekend.. But I don't think that will help on the stall problem :( My pro friend said that since the fuel gauge comes and go (it is on the same GND as the fuel pump) the GND might be the problem!?! can anyone confirm? I'm not that happy about a bad contact to GND near the fuel tank lol ;)

bad connection to the fuel sender unit more likely, the stalling will be down to the head gasket going ( remove a spark plug and examine it for carbon/oil/coolant and will be clogged ) its not advisable to just change a cylinder head gasket without skimming the head first

The spark plug's looks fine (the two of em I looked at) it runs okay.. it can run fine for days! and then all of a sudden stall in the middle of a drive.. No idea really what can cause this problem.. and I would really hate to spent 300$ on parts that wont help my stalling problem! Now that I think of it.. I haven't had a single stall since I did a reset on my computer(don't remember the name:S the box that controls the injection or what ever)about 4 days ago.. Could that cause frequent stalling problems? Also I just took a 20km drive.. No oil in the coolant :S now I'm really confused! I think I will take the car to work tomorrow and report back if theres still no oil to be seen..
