Maverick Posted September 3, 2005 Posted September 3, 2005 And I may be some time. Well, after just over two years of moaning about the radio, the doors and the roof I have finally changed to a car with none of these. Thanks to everyone for their help, assistance and advice over the ups and downs of Pluriel ownership (and this site, for that matter) and all the best with which ever way your car takes you. If I can be of any advice to anyone, feel free to contact me. Have fun, and get LOTS of fresh air. All the best, Mav. Quote
pork_pie Posted September 4, 2005 Posted September 4, 2005 A car with no radio, roof or doors? Wow what is this car you are getting? Getting rid of my Citroen but will really miss it. I wont miss the rattles and teething problems that tecdhnicians are incapable to fixing. Also fed up of having to arrange an appointment on a monthly basis. Saxo - had to take it in first week of having it. Same for C3 - DOZEN VISITS IN FIRST 8 MONTHS! First Xsara - had to to bring it back 18 hours of taking delivery of it. Current Xsara - too many little niggles but most "reliable" one Changing it for a BMW. Citroen gotta look long and hard about customer relations, workmanship and build quality. Low prices is of no use if the product is shabby. Quote
Maverick Posted September 5, 2005 Author Posted September 5, 2005 After several months of job hunting, after being made redundant at the end of last year I finally have a job with a 17 mile cross country commute, so I have "downgraded" to a Westfeild. It is lots older, far more basic, but the closest I am allowed to get to a motorbike. Now I will have the joy of all round open air driving, lots of leaks and wet seats, without having a Citroen! :) I agree with your comments about Customer Relations, but to be honest, Citroen have given a very good impression of not giving a flying **** about me, from the moment I paid for the car their customer relations have been 100% ****, and it took an email to the MD to even get Slough to acknowledge my existance. Anyway, I have too many horror stories to tell about the dealer, including ignored phone calls (with a "dead in the water" car), wrong parts ordered, and a general "well you have paid for it now, so that is not our problem" attitude. :( Lets hope I have more luck with this next car. Maverick Posted January 8, 2007 Author Posted January 8, 2007 Hmm, is this forum died, or just sleeping? Was talking to the person with my old Sieve, I mean Pluriel, and they have some serious leak problems. Any magic solutions on this, or should they just sell it now? Quote
hertsnminds Posted January 9, 2007 Posted January 9, 2007 Hi Maverick I think most of the original posters to this forum were those complaining about all the issues they had and those folks are now well rid of their Buckets, which must be the english tranlsation of Pluriel. Anyone who has had 100% or even 90% trouble free motoring from their Pluriel is a very lucky individual and should be doing the lottery on a regular basis. I know I am much happier since I switched to C4 ownership and I would recommend anyone with a Pluriel especially 1 that is out of warranty to get rid as soon as possible, unless they live in a hot, rain free climate. tronboy Posted January 19, 2007 Posted January 19, 2007 I reckon that kind of climate is what they were intended for.... A bit like the draughty, leaky old Mehari! I must say that I rather fancy spending a few K on an early Muriel as a bit of fun, but I don't think I'd rely on one for everyday driving unless it was an 04 reg or newer. Quote
Maverick Posted January 22, 2007 Author Posted January 22, 2007 Well I just spoke with them again, and they managed to get Citroen to supply a new set of seals, althought they did have to pay fitting. I guess only time will tell if these are any better than the last, but they have a far greater overlap from the a pillar to the roof bar, so that is a plus anyway. BTW, the Mehari was great fun. The best bit was parking... just get the nose in and lift the back end around. Did that more than once, as it meant you could really shoehorn it in. Quote
hertsnminds Posted January 23, 2007 Posted January 23, 2007 Well I just spoke with them again, and they managed to get Citroen to supply a new set of seals My Pluriel website is still up and running so they can have a look at the difference between the 2003 seals, the 2004 seals and the new ones they have just had fitted. Go to http://www.c3pluriel.org.uk/ and look in the Questions section under "Why is my Pluriel wet inside?" There are lots of pics of the seals. IanBlack 55 VTR+ Quote
Guest CE05LDB Posted January 30, 2007 Posted January 30, 2007 The Pluriels have dropped alot in Price haven't they. My local Citroen Dealer has a 03 1.6i 16v Sensodrive in silver with only 22,000 miles £5,995 Quote
lesw Posted March 12, 2007 Posted March 12, 2007 I thought I'd just like to say that the Peugeot 206cc that we bought after getting our money back from the Pluriel has been trouble free after two and a half years and just over twenty thousand miles. No lock ins, no boot randomly locking itself, the alarm doesn't go off randomly, the doors fit, it doesn't leak, bits of dashboard aren't hanging off and you can put the roof up and down, something that never worked on the Pluriel. The dealer, Blacklers in Torquay, couldn't be better, they answer the phones, you can speak to them, they don't run and hide, and I'm sure if I wrote them a letter they would reply to it instead of ignoring it!I still like the Pluriel and with some of the current second-hand prices I could be tempted with a basic model.............cheap enough and with no fancy extras might be worth it.... I wonder if the two are connected? ;) Richard03 orange 1.4 and 05 silver 1.4, both going strong Quote

I wonder if the two are connected? Richard03 orange 1.4 and 05 silver 1.4, both going strong Over 46000 miles and only one problem. A stuck roof due to a faulty wire. Leaks, what leaks? The Pluriel has been leak free since new, it is a 2003 built one although registerred 04. Best car I have ever had it really is great at any time of year to be open topped. Only rain closes the roof. In winter the heater is good enough to help give a glow on dry days. I would recommend one to anyone it is much better than the Swedish manufactured car it replaced. Quote
