robcmar Posted August 6, 2008 Posted August 6, 2008 Just ordered a C3 and stupidly didn't take my iPod to test out the stereo. Afterwards I realised I didn't even know how it will actually work. Is there some kind of cable or is there a docking station ? Will either of them re-charge the iPod ? The website and brochure give no clues. Thanks for any help. Quote
kfk Posted August 6, 2008 Posted August 6, 2008 you dont say which C3 your looking at buying......but i wonder if your getting confused with how it plays mp3s. The standard radio will play mp3's that are recorded onto cd 1st. If you wish to connect an Ipod to the standard radio you may wish to purchase a USB box which will allow control of the ipod through the standard vehicle controls and allow the unit to recharge. See here for info on USB box Quote

robcmar Posted August 7, 2008 Author Posted August 7, 2008 It's the 1.6hdi rhythm.Just checked the website and you are correct, it plays mp3 compatible cd's. Will double check the broochure when I get home as I thought it had said mp3 player. If not it's down to your iPod box solution ! Looking at your photos, what is the cable that appears to be running from the unit into the glove compartment ? Quote

Guest Colin Hunter Posted August 8, 2008 Posted August 8, 2008 Hi Rob. Here's another solution for the MP3 dilemma. Have a look at this site http://www.xcarlink.co.uk/home.php and Click on Citroen. They have 2 devices that connect to the radio and pretend to be autochangers. One is an Ipod interface and the other plays MP3s fom either a pen drive or an SD card. You may need to email them to see if your head unit is compatible. The Usb/SD version works perfectly in my Xsara Picasso with RD3 Head unit. Have a look in the ICE section of the picasso site for more info. http://www.citroenpicasso.org.uk/picasso/i...showtopic=14072 Cheers Hope this helps. ;) Quote
