Force - IT Posted August 9, 2008 Posted August 9, 2008 Hi, I was wondering if anyone can help.... I was driving my C2 VTR and after going through a puddle about 5 seconds later the gearbox fault light came flashing up. It came to a halt and wouldn't move so i turned the engine off. I then tried restarting it to find it wouldnt with a dash through where it shows what gear your in. I tried disconnecting the battery and reconnecting but still nothing happened. After getting it towed home i had the plugs of the gearbox ecu and found one had got water into it. I dried everything out and charged the battery for a few hours then tried starting it again. This time it just turned over and wouldn't fire. Strange... Tried locking it then unlocking it, key in and out, battery disconnected and reconnected. About a hour later it decided to start. Now when i get it started it won't go into any gear with the auto and snowflake flashing. The clutch actuator seems to be ok (it moves anyway) but the shift actuator doesn't seem to. Anyone any ideas? Quote
techbod Posted August 9, 2008 Posted August 9, 2008 I would let it dry out fully or use a hair drier, it sounds like its in limp mode so find the fuse to the tranny ECU and remove it to clear the fault code Quote
Guest glover Posted August 9, 2008 Posted August 9, 2008 If you've had the battery leads off then you need to re set the gearbox ECU. It tells you how to do this in the manual, think it's about a 10 min job wich requires you to press brake pedal, put into gear, release brake pedal etc. Nothing technical to do though. Good luck G Quote
techbod Posted August 10, 2008 Posted August 10, 2008 excellent reply +10 for that I wasn't thinking it was electronic set up ;) Quote

Anyone any ideas? This is exactly what has happened yesterday to my pluriel, the citroen garage has just got back to me and told me I need a new actuator at a cost of £600 (including recovery). OUCH! (Worse still we were driving on the motorway at the time with our 5 year old in the back, exactly the same description with the dreaded snowflake and it appears stuck in gear. ) I have just done a quick search and apparently there was a recall of actuators, http://www.citroenchat.com/forum/index.php?topic=533.0 not sure if its relevant though. Can anybody help? Moif Quote
