Guest Andy_79 Posted August 13, 2008 Posted August 13, 2008 Hi all, Not sure how to describe this noise, but on 'mid' braking (not hard, but a little more than gentle) i get a 'watery screeching noise' from the front brakes !! doesnt happen all the time.. There was an advisory note on a previous MOT that said the brake lines were cracking. (not sure if its related) Anyone know whats going on ? Thanks, Andy- 2000 Xsara 1.6, 30k Quote
techbod Posted August 13, 2008 Posted August 13, 2008 never heard of a watery sound on the breaks before so could you describe it better like is it scraping of sorts like calipers catching the edge of the disc due to worn pads and and thinning discs, the MOT says the pipes will need sorting before the next MOT or they need cleaning and greasing Quote
Guest Andy_79 Posted August 15, 2008 Posted August 15, 2008 I dont think its coming from the brakes themselves, more like the engine bay, but only occurs when the brakes are applied. Cant give a better description as i've not heard it lately.. i need a mate to listen while i try not to run him over..!! thanks, Quote
techbod Posted August 15, 2008 Posted August 15, 2008 the brakes work ok? and the water sound could be from the heater matrix due to air in the system Quote
