truemouse Posted September 26, 2005 Posted September 26, 2005 I've had the clutch cable snap on me before in the middle of the night. Had to drive home with the clutch engaged all the way. Timing each of the changes just right so I wouldn't be left with a toothless 'box. Now if it is just the clutch cable, you should not have to replace the clutch. The problem would be the mechanism, not the plates. It sounds like you need to replace the cable. That's what I had to do. What I don't understand is why would the clutch pedal be rock hard. When the cable went in the AX the pedal dropped to the floor. Best to grab your haynes, your 2-ton trolley jack, 2 axle stands and get a good look under girlfriends front end. :D Quote
