Has anyone replaced there cambelt on the C4 yet, if you have, what millage did you change it at and the cost factor.

 

I get the funny feeling my local dealer is trying to pull a fast one on me.

Can't be right! :huh: Dealers don't do that sort of thing. :angry:

According to Autodata the cambelt should be changed at 100K or if under adverse conditions it should be 80K. Personally, I would go for the 80K.

Well every car I owned i changed it at 75'K, the weird thing is the service book in the C4 says 120'K...

 

Well the Citroen Dealer quoted be about R 6000, which is more or less 500 pounds. Does that seem like a right Quote

Difficult to say since I don't know how the prices go in SA. In the UK we have Independant Citroen Agents and they tend to be much more reasonable in price. Don't you have them? £500 in the UK would be regarded as far too much for a belt change, even allowing for a new water pump and pulleys.

Which engine have you got?

 

For most current/new PSA cars, it's a nominal 10 year life span.

 

The recommended time to change one on the 1.6HDi is 120,000 miles/200,000Km.

 

The petrol engines are at 80,000 miles/120,00Km.
