trubmij Posted August 31, 2008 Posted August 31, 2008 I have a 2002 C5 2.2 HDI SX and the 12-volt accessory socket, i.e. the one located on the console near the handbrake, does not now work. The Handbook says that it is the 20-amp fuse at position 7 in the fuseboard in the glovebox and that that is the only thing listed on this fuse. However, removing this fuse turns off the light in the glovebox. This fuse is OK so it is also the fuse for the accessory socket or is this somewhere else? Just want to know before I start digging further and taking the socket out and checking connections etc. Thanks! Quote

According o the French RTA manual, Fuse 7 does indeed feed the front 12v socket along with the main power to the cigar lighter. Is this working?Citroen appear to use nearly all white cables to wire their equipment with coded labels. It appears code ACP01 feeds the 12v socket and A8100 feeds the cigar lighter. Both these are joined to the supply wire A01 which is fed from Fuse 7.It may be that the earth wire (MCP01) is not bonded correctly.Send me your e-mail address and I can forward you a diagram in 'Word'. Is this working?the manual may say that, as does my manual in the car, but it does say 'may vary in different markets' or words to that effect. if you have an estate the fuse for acc sockets is also the fuse for the manual susp switch in boot.ignore what manual says & physically check all fuses, i nearly got to the point of stripping mine down to try & find the fault, just had last thought to check all fuses & saved myself loads of hassle Quote
Randombloke Posted August 31, 2008 Posted August 31, 2008 just pull out all the blue 15 amp ones and look for the one thats blown. I'd be inclined to buzz them out with a continuity meter unless you are 100% sure you will see a hairline crack. Another member has reported this exact same problem in another thread. Quote

Johngartyuk Posted September 3, 2008 Posted September 3, 2008 On my 2.0HDi 04 VTR estate I 'lost' the accessory socket by the handbrake as well. The user manual wasn't much help so I went through all the likely fuses and found it to be F10 (15amp) it is marked in the manual as +Battery. There are 2 types of fuseboard a B1 or B2 type, mine is a B2 but in both types F10 is marked as +Battery so it should serve the same circuits (you'd have thought!) Quote
