WeeMan Posted September 1, 2008 Posted September 1, 2008 Does anyone know how to reset the computer on a 56 plate C4 VTR+? It's my fathers & he tells me that it always says 44mpg and the distance to refil never changes (maybe a good thing but I suspect it's lying) Can it be reset or is it just buggered. Cheers Quote
kfk Posted September 1, 2008 Posted September 1, 2008 Try pressing the button on the end of the wiper switch for 10 seconds see if that resolves it. Quote
syrup Posted September 2, 2008 Posted September 2, 2008 As kfk says pressing the end of the wiper stalk alters the settings. If you press on the end quickly it will toggle between the computer settings 1,2 and 3 shown on your display. Holding the end down will zero the display your on.I use display one for general motoring, display two I zero when I fill up to give details on that tank of petrol and display three I haven't touched, to show what I have done since purchasing the car ie Distance travelled, mpg and average speed. DISTANCE TO DESTINATIONTo enter the distance to be travelled in the trip computer:- Press "MENU" on the steering wheel - Use the scroll wheel to select the trip computer icon, then confirm with a press on "OK".- Select your entry of distance, using the scroll. Confirm your choice with a press on "OK".- To choose the distance, select the figure to be modified using the scroll wheel, then confirm with a press on "OK".- Use the scroll wheel to adjust the value then validate with a press on "OK".- Validate and exit by pressing "OK". The system is metric by design. Therefore, the 4 digit trip computer has a limit of 9,999Km, about 6,200 miles, and stops recording at this point until it is reset by holding down the button on the end of the windscreen wiper stalk for several seconds. The button the end of lighting stalk does nothing, despite rumours it removes a section of the roof prior to ejecting the passenger! Quote
