my car has developed the anti pollution faut and goes into limp mode i had it on the diagnosis machine and had these two codes

 

p1288

p1491

 

can anyone shed any light on what they mean and what woud be the matter???

PSA fault codes from BBA Reman

 

P1288 Cylinder head temp sensor Out of self test range

 

P1491 Secondary switch solenoid circuit malfunction

 

Is the CHT sensor connected, or wires loose? The second one looks like it might be EGR.

 

You may as well buy a book of fault codes if you are going to use the diagnostic.
