Guest Citroen_Nut Posted September 19, 2008 Posted September 19, 2008 I'm now the proud owner of an N'reg 2.0i 8v ZX Volcane with 81k on the clock. I've got one problem with the car, for the first 10 or so minutes of every journey the car seems to be a little erratic on idle or idles at around 2000 rpm. Eventually it settles down and idles at around 750rpm. Its also very jittery on light throttle, almost kangaroo-ing sometimes. Even when the car has been on a long journey and you turn the ignition off, on restarting with the engine warm the same issues arise. What could be causing these problems? I'm thinking of replacing the plugs, air filter, other general service items and possibly the leads as well as my first port of call as there isn't much service history with the car. Also, when should the cam belt be replaced, i can't tell from the little service history i have if it was done? I totally love the car and it brings back so many memories of a previous hot citroen i owned as a youngtser (Mildly tuned AX GT). It handles well, doesn't crash over speed bumps so its obviously been looked after well but i just need to cure this niggling problem. Thanks Lee Quote
techbod Posted September 19, 2008 Posted September 19, 2008 (IAC) idle control valve on the throttle body it has a 4 pin connector marked A B C D to check the resistance use a multi meter on A&D resistance should be approx 53 ohms and then B&C should be the same, if not replace the unit Quote
