Hi, I have a 2003 1.4 HDI 16V exclusive. I was just wondering if anyone on here has tried one of the plug-in diesel tuning boxes on one of these. If so can you let me have your opinions on it. Thanks.

I beleive "Tune It" allow you to try their units before you buy. They just sit between the ecu plug and the ecu socket from the main ecu loom

Hi Fatnfast.

I put a tuning box on my 2.0 HDi Picasso to great effect. It was dead easy to fit, You just fit it onto the fuel rail pressure sensor and re-attach the plug you removed from that, to the other socket on the unit. The one I bought (From an ad on Ebay) was this one http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Diesel-Tuning-Chip-C...A1%7C240%3A1318 and has a trimming control so you can adjust the degree of fuelling/performance you require.

They claim an increase for the 1.4 90 bhp engine up to 108 bhp and the torque from 200 to 240 NM. My Picasso increase (Claimed) is 90/115 and 205/260 on the old 8 valve 2.0 hdi and I believe it, as it is now easily as sprightly as my 110 Hdi Xantia was.

I have used it for about 9 months and have nothing but good to say. THe car is MUCH livelier and also gives better MPG so it's win/win all round. I had someone follow me up the road after it was fitted and adjusted to check on the smoke and he said there was very little.

It's about £106 delivered so it won't break the bank either.

Cheers. Hope this helps. ;)
