chaddy18 Posted December 1, 2008 Posted December 1, 2008 My rear brake light went the other day, so I changed the bulb but it still does not work. Changed the bulb again and still nothing. The light comes on when the headlights are turned on but no brake light. Any ideas anyone? ;) Quote

But the drivers side brake light does work, it's the left that doesn't. Quote
techbod Posted December 3, 2008 Posted December 3, 2008 well the only thing I can think of is a power outage as they don't have separate fuses, check the earth and live feed to the unit or go the old way and take a wire from the working light so they both work? Quote
chaddy18 Posted December 11, 2008 Author Posted December 11, 2008 The problem seems to be intermittent. Does anyone know if this is covered under warranty . Many thanks guys Quote
techbod Posted December 11, 2008 Posted December 11, 2008 very possible as its a serious issue and could get you a fine if someone bumped you and told the cops your break light weren't working, also a probable MOT fail Quote
wozza Posted December 12, 2008 Posted December 12, 2008 If the car is under warranty...its covered. The only thing the warranty does not cover is consumables. Brake pads, Clutch etc. Rattles, electrical faults (Like this) mechanical issues etc are all warranty work. So get it booked in. Pretty much everything is covered under warranty. I had mine in the other day for a new washer tube and to enable the display in the centre to show the parking sensor display. Lot less than this. Only took them 30 minutes to do on the day as well just turned up. Quote
Guest Citroen CT Posted May 24, 2009 Posted May 24, 2009 2 common faults found with this are harness rubbing and shorting where it runs into car through post behind lamp unit and also water ingress into light unit or connector Quote
