Hi, Since I soldered the connections on my ECU my Xsara MK 2, 2 litre 110 bhp has been perfect. Until this morning. Parked it up last night. Wen't to start it this morning. It won't start. I checked the fault code in the ECU an its showing code 1402. Which is something to do with the EGR valve. Wouldn't have thought that that would have stopped it from starting? I reset the ECU and the car started for a very brief second. It then just kept turning over. Reset it again and again it started for a brief second. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I found this very interesting even though its a pug its still the same system used on the Citroen and hopefully it explains how the EGR effects your car I know its a bit deep but well worth the read

Used on the engine is a Bosch EDC15C2 system. The Bosch ECU has the following inputs:

engine speed

intake airflow

engine coolant temp

intake air temp

fuel temp

camshaft position

crankshaft position

fuel pressure

atmospheric pressure

accelerator pedal position

understanding how a system works is the best way to fix it ( the domino effect ) this is the cause of much over spending and garages use it to fit new parts instead of finding the real problem
