Aza Posted January 5, 2009 Posted January 5, 2009 A happy new year to all, and the new year kicks off with a new problem. Having now suffered with a duff battery for a while I decided that enough was enough. The old one even though held 12v it could not start the car. On the last attempt it did not have enough juice to turn the engine but as I turned off the iginition the speedo plumbitted to zero, clicked a bit and then a small click from the fuse box was heard; this was the 30A fuse that is in the sun roof circuit blowing. I thought strange but anything goes with electrics, Having fitted a new battery (the car now starts!) I fitted a new fuse, only for this to blow on ignition switch on. Obviously this doesnt take a genius to point out a have a major short but the question is how? Looking at the Haynes manual the BSI is in circuit. Surely this couldn't have gone because of a duff battery? Any thoughts? Thanks, Aza Quote
techbod Posted January 6, 2009 Posted January 6, 2009 check the earth wire to the sunroof as the issue is the sunroof? is it stuck/frozen due to this bad weather? if it is then it will keep blowing the fuse until its freed up Quote
