Codehead Posted March 2, 2009 Posted March 2, 2009 Hi all, new here. Staggered to see all the faults I've had on my C5 listed as well known problems (Rear door locks, wobbly driver's seat, tailgate window, etc  ) Anyway, one of my rear brake lights is out and I cannot for the life of me get the lens cluster off to replace it. The car's a 2001 2.0HDi LX Estate. There are no visible screws in the lens itself, no obvious removable panel inside the rear pillar, nothing. I've tried gently popping the whole light cluster out, but didn't want to break anything. There's nothing in the owner's manual as it only refers to the saloon model. Anyone done it before? Or got a Haynes manual that they can take a look in for me? (I need to pick one up soon, many other little jobs need doing.) TIA Quote
Randombloke Posted March 2, 2009 Posted March 2, 2009 HAnyway, one of my rear brake lights is out and I cannot for the life of me get the lens cluster off to replace it. There are two plastic caps on the rear light assembly that you can see when the boot is open, they are about the size of 5p pieces. If you carefully pop these out you'll see 8 or 10mm nuts under them. Job done. Re-assembly is the reverse of removal. ;-) Quote
Codehead Posted March 3, 2009 Author Posted March 3, 2009 Thanks very much. I saw the blanking caps, but never thought to pop them off to see what was underneath. Quote
