Guest Very angry at Yeomans Citr Posted April 28, 2009 Posted April 28, 2009 I used to run the Speedfighters forum, the club for Peugeot Speedfight owners, and we petitioned Haynes to bring a manual out, and they did. Maybe we need to petition Haynes, along with the help of the 107oc.com and c1oc.co.uk to produce a manual. Quote
Johndouglas Posted April 29, 2009 Posted April 29, 2009 Maybe you should prepare for a long wait. It's taken years for them to produce one for the C5. Quote

downsman Posted April 29, 2009 Posted April 29, 2009 Good idea, I'm planning to keep my C1 for a while, and the manual(s) I have for our Berlingo (AX and BX in the past) have been very useful ;) Quote
ColinC1 Posted May 20, 2009 Posted May 20, 2009 We tried petitioning Haynes for the Smart Fortwo a few years ago, when I owned one and was a member of a smart website. But... Haynes replied that it was only cost effective to them if there was a large number of that specific car, and also if they thought there would be enough DIY enthusiasts. So the answer was no on the first requirement, as too few Fortwos were on the road. Yet there are plenty DIY Fortwo owner, doing servicing, mods and repairs by themselves. I would say though that there is more than enough combined city bug owners (C1, 107 and Aygo), as these cars are in the mass produced market, to meet the first requirement. But do they think owners will use a DIY book or just go to the dealer and not need a book, that is the question that only Haynes would decide on (and its a financial one). I have a feeling they would not think there is enough DIY owners, at present, due to the newness of the cars. Quote
iannez Posted May 20, 2009 Posted May 20, 2009 agree with colin. it will come down to how many of these cars are outside the 3 year warrenty period. think it will be 2 or 3 more years before they print one. Quote
Trotsky Posted May 21, 2009 Posted May 21, 2009 But do they think owners will use a DIY book or just go to the dealer and not need a book, that is the question that only Haynes would decide on (and its a financial one). Think that as the C1's etc are one of the cheapest cars around then the sort of owners are sensible types who would be more likely to try DIY work instead of throwing stupid money at dealer services after the warranty period just for a glorified oil change that anyone could do in 20 minutes. (Alright, a bit exaggerated but basically paying for a dealer stamp). So the market is probably there for C1's/107's. Quote
