garymac1965 Posted May 12, 2009 Posted May 12, 2009 Was out yesterday in my 51 plate C5 2.0hdi and on pulling up the handbrake, something snapped. An inspection suggest that the cable leading to the front nearside brake has snapped as the flexible part is now hanging loose. I have replaced cables before but on cars with a rear handbrake and this one looks a bit more complicted to route. Has anyone else changed the handrake cable and if so what problems were encountered. Thanks Gary Quote
coastline taxis Posted May 12, 2009 Posted May 12, 2009 the cable isnt a bad job to do as it sits in a tube that comes with the new cable. You have to remove the front exhaust bracket and heat shield and part of the center heat shield then its just 2 10mm brackets and a bit juggling about and its out Quote
coastline taxis Posted May 12, 2009 Posted May 12, 2009 meant to say center console and not center heat shield Quote
