Problem is seam to be using water but no leaks to be found water pump ok and engine is running well no smoke no over heating.

Fill coolant up run for 10 miles warning light comes on water level low in tank but if open water returns to fall levels change cap on tank and still dose it.

Any ideas of what to do next I think it is something to do with when the engine is running and the pressure builds up in the tank it can't escape dropping the water level and then the warning light comes on.

Help is needed garage dose not seem to no.

Please help me out.

Hi I bought a 2.2 HDI which developed this problem, took it back to the dealer. They said that the Heater Matrix had gone and it was a common fault. I was lucky and got it done U/G......hope this helps

If the matrix is indeed leaking, feel the footwell carpet, usually the passenger side. A leaking matrix will make it wet.

The carpet on my 2.2 hdi did not get wet, the backing on the carpet kept it from coming through, so not that easy to test. Might be a good idea to lift a portion of the passenger footwell carpet just to check.
