Replace bulb W 5 W. I'll have a look at our Xsara in the morning but it seems pretty straight forward. CheersChris Quote
Johndouglas Posted October 16, 2009 Posted October 16, 2009 I too have seen the note on Halfords screen about not attempting to do lights on Xsara's. During the past year I've done both side and headlights on our Xsara. The headlights can be done from under the bonnet, but the side lights require the bumper to be removed. And then, to get to the last of the three headlight bolts, you'll need to take off the cross member. Here's a piccy:- http://i69.photobucket.com/albums/i53/Johndug/P1020572a.jpg PS: Renew both sidelight bulbs  Quote
Guest GarethJ Posted October 22, 2009 Posted October 22, 2009 I took my car to my local MOT centre, a family run place that i've used before, (Harwoods in Port Talbot) explained to them what i've described in original post and asked their opinion, was I amazed? Yes, they did my MOT and changed bulbs for FREE, without removing bumper??? wish i'd stayed to see them do it, so I could enlighten other owners. Anyway, thanks for all the replies and advice,Gareth Quote
Guest SortedTrainers Posted November 28, 2009 Posted November 28, 2009 Thanks for this post Gareth! I paid forty quid the last time a sidelight bulb went, hope I can save some money now!!! Quote
Guest dymo5 Posted August 12, 2010 Posted August 12, 2010 I had to get my mechanic to change the side light bulb ,I was standing beside him to watch to see how he done it ,he spent over an hour to try and get it out with his now cut fingers but he had great difficultly so he tried long nose pliers and a mirror to see where to grab ,pliers wont fit he burn a small hole at back of lamp to try and push the lamp out but no luck ( , then finally he had to saw an inch at the back from where the rubber cover sits the get his fingers in and pull ,He finally got the side light out and he said that someone had glue the sidelight housing in :oO ,I should have got Halfords to do it from the first place when I bought the bulb LOL but now hopefully it ready for MOT now and the mechanic charge £10 for the hassel . Guest Karina 18 Posted February 7, 2011 Posted February 7, 2011 That's interesting! Did you need to move the washer spout?[/quote You just gently hold it out of the way... Thinking about it.. you need to find someone with small hands to do it. :) Quote
