the2ems Posted January 14, 2010 Posted January 14, 2010 Hi,Just replaced a front headlight bulb, which was a bit fiddly, but not as difficult as I expected. But I needed to remove the battery to gain access. Now the radio doesn't work, so I am assuming I need the code. I can't find anything in my handbook, or the radio guide. In fact, after looking at the radio guide I don't think I even have the correct book. The one I have is for a Navidrive, but I only have a standard radio/CD player.Anyway, to get back to the problem. Is there any way of finding the radio code, or is it a dealer job. Thanks Quote
iannez Posted January 14, 2010 Posted January 14, 2010 the radio does not lose the code when you disconnect the battery. did you let everything shut down correctley before you removed the battery and does the car still start, remote locking still work etc. Quote

The radio wasn't actually turned off at the unit, just from the ignition. Everything else still works fine :)( Quote
Randombloke Posted January 14, 2010 Posted January 14, 2010 What do you mean by everything shut down? There is a sequence for disconnecting the battery that needs to be followed if everything is to work on reconnection. Have a look here: Battery Swap And Reset Have you started the car up, run it and then turned everything off just in case the car has gone into eco mode and that's what's killed the radio? Quote

That procedure seems more like one of the games the grandchildren play on their DS. As for the radio, it is now working. I remembered that the on off push switch on the unit had been playing up, and I had not been able to turn it off. I messed with it this morning, pulling it in and out, and hey presto, the radio sprang to life. Must try the windows though. Quote
iannez Posted January 15, 2010 Posted January 15, 2010 there is a modified button available for these radios. there not as deep so dont bottom out when you press them. or you could remove the one thats on and grind about 4mm off the skirt. Quote
