ZX Volcane 1.9TD 1995 - Leaky washer bottle.

I know the question has been asked here before but I've not seen an definitive answer yet.

How does the under-wing washer bottle detach from the filler neck in the engine bay?

I've tried twisting, levering, wrenching - you name it.

Admittedly there's very little room to work, but I'd expect to see a tiny bit of movement somewhere - but no, the two sections seem welded together. Everything else under the wing comes apart fine; it's SO frustrating!

Does anyone know if they're interference fit, "pushy clicky" fit, bayonet, screw thread or what?

Huge thanks for any help

It's very likely that your water reservoir is the same as is fitted in the Pug 306. In which case the neck screws on to the base.

Thanks for that John.

The problem is now solved: I found that there was a nylon arm and rubber grommet holding the neck to the front of the wiper tray. It's not visible unless you remove the wiper and wiper tray cover (just under the windscreen - runs the width of the car). My manual conveniently doesn't tell you that! Once the grommet's removed it's plain sailing. The neck turned out to be an easy push fit, no muscle needed.

Moral of story: Don't read the manual!
