Relay1.9D Posted July 6, 2010 Posted July 6, 2010 Hello, I have a 1995 Relay 1.9D which I have owned from new and has never missed a beat in 109,000 miles. Would like to change the gearbox oil but I am unable to find the filler plug. Can someone please point me in the right direction. Many thanks in advance. Quote
Johndouglas Posted July 6, 2010 Posted July 6, 2010 If its the BE3 gearbox you've got, the level/filler plug is in the end plate of the box at about 4 o'clock. The hex is slightly bigger than the other bolts. You'll need to take off the o/s wheel and remove the liner. Quote
Relay1.9D Posted July 6, 2010 Author Posted July 6, 2010 Hello Johndouglas, Many thanks for the reply. To be honest, I do not know what model of gearbox it is.There is a large dome shaped black metal cover on the end of the gearbox but there is no liner. Looking at the end of the gearbox, the drain plug is at about the 4 o clock position. Will take some pics and post them up tomorrow Quote
Johndouglas Posted July 7, 2010 Posted July 7, 2010 Looking at the end of the gearbox, the drain plug is at about the 4 o clock position. That is the filler/level plug. The drain plug is on the bottom of the box. Quote
Relay1.9D Posted July 23, 2010 Author Posted July 23, 2010 Hi Johndouglas, Many thanks for your info.Sorry for the late reply. I still can not find the gearbox filler plug.No problem with the drain plug. There is a dipstick at the back of the gearbox and I wonder if this could be the filling point ? Quote
