lurkio Posted July 7, 2010 Posted July 7, 2010 Hi PeepsI have a frustrating problem where I get engine hesitation, often accelerating after a roundabout (but not exclusively) if i drive at low revs and raise and lower the accelerator that can also make it happenstomping on the gas generally results in smooth acceleration and there doesn't seem to be any unusual noises or vacuum leaks The Citroen garage hasn't got a clue as there are no error codes and as it is an old(ish) car I am reluctant to let him go randomly changing bits till it is fixed One thing I have noticed is that it works fine for a couple of days after the battery is disconnected/reconnected - I guess this is due to the computer using factory settings (and probably over rich) anyone got any ideas ? Firstly though next time it does it disconect the mass air flow and see if theres any differance (your looking for a loss in power) if theres no differance then think about replaceing the maf after youve checked the wiring to it Quote
lurkio Posted July 12, 2010 Author Posted July 12, 2010 Thanks for the idea but I don't think my engine has a MAF sensor - there are no sensors between the air filter and throttle - there is a little sensor just near the throttle vane but i reckon that is a temperature sensor Tell the garage to take the car out in for a run using the live data on the diagnostic.
