Guest timboo Posted July 13, 2010 Posted July 13, 2010 I have just removed and fitted a new com 2000 terminal (the black box which has 4X Stalks on it) for a citroen C5 VTR 2.2 HDI. To fit it i have had to remove the air bag and steering wheel. Since fitting the new part i now have 2X faults Air Bag ESP error Is it a simple case that my car needs plugging into a computer at a garage and settings reset possibly? (at a cost) :-) Any thoughts would be good ta ta tim Quote

Guest timboo Posted July 14, 2010 Posted July 14, 2010 Were the faults there before changing the com unit. And plugin it in is your next step forward no the faults were not there until I removed the air bag then reattached it. The esp fault was not there either. I have checked all the fuses. Quote

I'm of the opinion that a car is not clever enough to realise that something is working again and you need to tell the computer to check via the ecu. Quote

Guest timboo Posted July 19, 2010 Posted July 19, 2010 Plugging it in is the next step forward then, But a common fault on the comm units is to disply airbag faults. was it a new or second hand comm unit I used my own knowledge istead now. The unit I bought worked except it brought up errors i bought the unit from a scrap yard. My original fault was the washer stalk. The button on the end stopped working. I have since pulled to bits the two comm units. I have kept my old one and repleaced the stalk with the one from the scrap yard. I now have a complete working com unit. The com unit from the scrap yard had faults that were down to the unit as i have plugged the latest snapon ecu reader. The esp fault is still there however I have worked out that because i have done so much messing about the steering snesor claibration now needs doing. £88.00 from citroen. *************** Is there anywhere other than citroen can do steering sensor calibration? *********************** I am of the opinion only their computer can do it as other comps can only diagnose this fault!!!
