blueboy Posted August 12, 2010 Author Posted August 12, 2010 Thanks for your reply. On my C5 the pump is above the alternator and driven by the auxilary belt. That is the one I might have to replace. Visually it looks the same as the Xantia pump. I'm not sure of the function I believe the pump I need is for the power steering. Are there any variations across the years? Quote

All hydraulic Citroens prior to the C5 have one pump which does the suspension, power steering and brakes, including ABS. The C5 has them all separate. If it's driven by the auxiliary belt off the engine, it's the power steering. I think the C5 uses conventional power steering fluid, but I have not checked this. The hydraulic pump is driven by the battery. Quote

Any likely problems like oil spillage etc. And does it need bleeding after fitting Many thanks for the help Quote

Don't overfill (the tank will preasurise and crack), level is checked with suspension set on LOW, the level should be just below the filler filter basket, only use LDS!!!! CheersChris Quote
