madtheswine99 Posted September 8, 2010 Posted September 8, 2010 When i start the car on a morning the glow plug light comes on, but doesn't seem to go off.I crank the engine and it does start after a few attempts, but i get a lot of white smoke from the exhaust.Starting during the day isn't a problem and i don't have the white smoke any more.Is this because i need to change the glow plugs?? or is it something else.http://www.citroen-owners-club.co.uk/citroen/public/style_emoticons/default/blink.gif Quote
Johndouglas Posted September 9, 2010 Posted September 9, 2010 Because the light is lit doesn't mean that all the plugs are working. If two or even only one sometimes are duff, the engine can be reluctant to start. They can be tested in situ but I find it best to remove them and test each one across a battery. Quote
