Guest igol Posted September 28, 2010 Posted September 28, 2010 I'm hoping that someone can help. I've just swapped the clutch on my mothers 1l 1995 AX and now can only move the gear lever forward and back.I suspect that the spindle lever has gotten knocked during the refit and that this has ended up above the forks in the shaft wrench. I've been trying to find a diag of how the internal layout of the change levers should look but the best I've found on the citroen site just shows the individual bits and not how they should fit together, can anyone offer a suitable diagram? frenchenstein Posted September 30, 2010 Posted September 30, 2010 Have a look at the rods that fit on the ball ends behind the gearbox (best veiwed from underneath the car)one of them has either fallen off or the bonding to the socket has failed. I have successfully repaired these using a cheap epoxy resin mix (£1.50 at our local cheapy motorists shop), the rods are getting more difficult to source at breakers yards now. Best of luck. Guest igol Posted September 30, 2010 Posted September 30, 2010 Gear control rods are fine.I stripped out the transmission itself during the refit (dont ask) and during that process the shaft wrench managed to jam itself above the selction levers. An exploded diagram of this section would help clarify a lot though. Johndouglas Posted October 1, 2010 Posted October 1, 2010 can anyone offer a suitable diagram? This any good? http://i69.photobucket.com/albums/i53/Johndug/AXGearchange.jpg Quote
Guest igol Posted October 2, 2010 Posted October 2, 2010 This any good? http://i69.photobucket.com/albums/i53/Johndug/AXGearchange.jpg Thanks, but nope. I need a shot of the interior of the transmission but not the ones off the citroen site as it gives an exploded view but doesnt give much of a clue to where the bits go. Quote
