Guest Ayup Posted September 29, 2010 Posted September 29, 2010 Hi, About twice a week the clutch pedal on my Berlingo decides to stay down when changing gear. i just lift it up with my foot and carry on driving - anyone else suffered the same problem? Quote
Johndouglas Posted September 30, 2010 Posted September 30, 2010 i just lift it up with my foot And does it stay up? Is there spring pressure when you next push it down? Quote
Guest Ayup Posted September 30, 2010 Posted September 30, 2010 Thanks for replying. Yes it stays up and there is spring pressure until it happens again a few days later. Thanks, Rob Quote
Johndouglas Posted September 30, 2010 Posted September 30, 2010 So in that case I would say it's either a lack of lubrication on the pedal pivot, the inner cable is too dry or maybe a return spring on the pedal is stretched/broken. Quote
Guest Ayup Posted October 1, 2010 Posted October 1, 2010 Thanks for the advice - I'll follow it through and let you know the outcome - at least it doesn't sound expensive! Quote
Guest Ayup Posted October 7, 2010 Posted October 7, 2010 Lubricated everything and it hasn't happened since - my guess is that it was a dry cable. Thanks for the help.Rob. Quote
petty Posted October 15, 2010 Posted October 15, 2010 Do you have the spring on? I think it is happening because of it. You need to fit the spring or have a new spring on. ______________________Western New England College EDP Quote
