Guest purplegimlet Posted October 23, 2010 Posted October 23, 2010 Hi,my C5 Exclusive Estate has fabric trim, and i would like to change to leather. Is it a simple swop or will there be problems in the wiring connections. Will the wiring connections be already be there under the carpets. Quote
Guest Andy Wright Posted October 25, 2010 Posted October 25, 2010 Well I'm changing the fabric manual adjustment seats on my 53plate HDi SX for some Leather electric adjustable ones from a C5 Exclusive, after removing the old seats and disconnecting the Airbag Wiring connector I found all the other connectors required tucked under the carpet, so I would say you should find the wiring in place, the only problem I have is ....... After connecting it all up, the seats won't move, so although the wiring is there I don't think there is any power getting through, the 4 seat fuses are in place and good, but I suspect that either a relay(s) is missing or god help me the system might need re-programming with a Lexia to turn on the Electric seat system. The Haynes Manual I bought is useless as it doesn't even mention power seats or have a wiring diagram for them, so until I can get a diagram I'm stuck with a disintegrating fabric drivers seat. Quote
Johndouglas Posted October 26, 2010 Posted October 26, 2010 According to Citroen.service electric seats and manual seats each have their own electric harness. Quote
johntom Posted November 5, 2010 Posted November 5, 2010 Hii have just put a full leather interior into my 2004 VTR (from a 2003 exclusive), all the plugs/wires for the 3 way adjustable seats were there under the carpet and everything worked without any issues. Quote
Guest Andy Wright Posted November 8, 2010 Posted November 8, 2010 Update on changing Fabric Seats for Leather Electric Seats. It's all working now, after checking the wiring loom I found that there was no power to the fuses in the glovebox, a quick look at a wiring diagram showed that another fuse was located in the engine bay, I found that the 80 amp Maxi fuse F6 was missing, probably had never been fitted as the seats were originally a manual adjustment type. I fitted a new fuse bought from Halfords for £2.45, by the way these fuses are well hidden as you have to remove the fuse box assembly to get at these Maxi fuses, the easiest way I found was to remove the battery cover then the main ECU/Fusebox cover, then disconnect all the plugs in the top of the box, this allows the box to be unclipped and lifted up allowing access to the Maxi Fuses ...... the drivers handbook states "Only authorised Citroen Service Agents are allowed to replace these fuses" anyway now the seats work. Rooky1 Posted October 1, 2014 Posted October 1, 2014 Does anyone have the wiring diagram still for installing leather seats in a facelift 1.6hdi design as I have no wiring looms from the interior fuse box to the seats Quote
