i have had my r reg zx diesel non turbo auto estate for 4 years ,great reliable car,only niggle has been once it gets up to its running temp,which it never goes over,sometimes when you reach 50 or 60 mph if you have the window or sunroof open there is is a burning smell,the engine oil level never moves and is changed yearly, the gearbox oil has been changed, when the windows and sunroof are closed no smell,

After a run check that the hubs are not hot. Maybe the brakes are dragging.
