Guest percycuted Posted November 2, 2010 Posted November 2, 2010 Hi all, some advise is needed from more experienced owners of berlingo's. The crankshaft pulley bolt is giving me problems, it appears to be really really tight. I can find no mention of this bolt being a left handed thread, in fact I found an article on the net that states it's a normal right handed bolt. I have heated the bolt, flooded it with plus gas , used an impact driver etc etc.If anybody can shine some light on my problem I would be very grateful. Quote
Johndouglas Posted November 3, 2010 Posted November 3, 2010 Crankshaft pulley bolts are b****** to move. When fitted, the thread is coated with Loctite. Best time to remove is when the engine is hot. The starter ring on the flywheel needs to be locked, then use a socket with a long tommy-bar. What I have done in the past is to fit a socket on the bolthead with a breakerbar wedged on a jack - then give the starter a quick turn. Usually it works. Quote
