Guest yaesu Posted December 9, 2010 Posted December 9, 2010 Hi, 06 C5 2.0 HDi, during current cold spell the power steering does not work on initial start up after overnight parking. If I switch off and restart immediately all returns to normal (fortunately!)and continues OK for rest of day. Does anyone have any ideas please? TIA, regards, yaesu Quote
Johndouglas Posted December 10, 2010 Posted December 10, 2010 Probably your battery power is too low. During the summer I had to start with a jump start after finding the battery voltage too low. The car started OK but when I drove off, there was no power steering. Even after driving around the block the steering was still heavy. I disconnected the battery - left it for five minutes - then reconnected and all was back to normal. Quote
Guest yaesu Posted December 14, 2010 Posted December 14, 2010 Thanks johndouglas, apologies for late response but have been away. I've charged the battery and it seems OK over the last few days so time will tell. As usual it's been warmer! Will post any future developments. Regards, yaesu Quote
