seefive Posted December 10, 2010 Posted December 10, 2010 Is it true you can't "rotate" ie move the position of roadwheels (swap fronts and backs for example) without confusing the tyre pressure monitors, and giving wrong alerts? Is each transmitter registered to the computer based on its position, and can this be changed? Just interested. Thanks Quote
Johndouglas Posted December 10, 2010 Posted December 10, 2010 Systems on Mk 1 and Mk 2 may work differently, but I've switched front wheels to back on my C5 and nothing has been noted on the dashboard. Quote

I have a Mk2 - the people in the tyre place I went to recently carefully marked the wheels - they said if you switch them the computer would warn you of low pressure on a back wheel when a front wheel was down. ( or OS when NS was down etc)... Quote
Johndouglas Posted December 10, 2010 Posted December 10, 2010 Since when a wheel loses pressure and the position of that wheel is indicated on the dashboard diagram, it would seem to suggest that the computer knows the position of each sensor. But as I said previously, I've switched wheels from front to back without any confusion to the system. Might it be that the computer learns the new positions prior to any pressure loss. Quote
