Guest sallyann-10 Posted December 14, 2010 Posted December 14, 2010 Hi,I am new to all this. Recently bought a 2003 Citroen C3 1.4HDI Exclusive. Owned a peugeot 206 GTI for nine years with no problems so did not think there would be a problem with buying 'French' again.... Well, this car is a nightmare. The ECU has apparently gone. The garage say it has probably thrown out the fuel pump and injectors etc also. I cannot afford to take it to Citroen main dealer, they want £800 plus VAT just for the ECU plus fitting and coding to the car, then all the other bits they will find wrong with it. I have sent the ECU to one of these ECU specialist repair places who say they cannot read the software on it and cannot repair it. The AA could not get a reading from it.. The part itself is as rare as rocking horse poo and I cannot find a reconditioned one anywhere. I am blonde and a secretary so please do not baffle me with science, but can anyone help me? I understand that with this year and model it is very common. If that is the case, Citroen should be hung drawn and quartered for selling such a heap of junk and charging such an extortionate amount for something that they probably ship in from China or somewhere for a measly few quid. I have worn down the heels of my boots, been on foot now for six weeks and am losing the will to live!!!! HELP. Quote
Johndouglas Posted December 14, 2010 Posted December 14, 2010 Have a chat to these guys:-http://www.bba-reman.com/catalogue/DetailedProduct.aspx?DetailedProduct=546I haven't used them but I've heard good things said about them.Don't be tempted to fork out for a second hand one from a breaker. They won't work without being rebuilt and coded. Quote
