Hi,

I need advice.

I took my 2003 2.0HDI Xsara in for a cambelt replacing. When i got it back the was a lack of power, and then the engine made a clanking noise. needless to say i took it back to the guys who replaced the cambelt.

They then opened up the motor and said that the rocker on the cam was broken.

what wouldve been the cause of that?

regards

They've got the timing wrong. The pistons have come up and hit the valves - which were in the wrong place because of the belt being fitted incorrectly. If it happened some time after leaving the garage, then the belt was not tensioned correctly allowing the pulleys to loose their timing.
