Guest smirky2004 Posted December 29, 2010 Posted December 29, 2010 Hi Guys/Girls Recently driving up the M1 on Christmas day evening around 70mph in cold weather and the draught coming through the gap around the steering colum was freezing to say the leastafter a stop at a Motorway services to defrost my nether regions under a hand dryer and wrapping a blanket around myself I continued home. Next day I investigated the problem no apparent holes or disconnected vent hoses. So i googled it to find that it is a design problem?? Is this the case and has anyone else encountered it and found a fix apart from shoving a sponge in the gap. CheeRs Guys/Girls Quote

coastline taxis Posted December 30, 2010 Posted December 30, 2010 is it wind blowing in or when you use the heaters. Have you checked for holes in the bulk head etc etc Quote
Guest Wac Posted December 30, 2010 Posted December 30, 2010 is it wind blowing in or when you use the heaters. Have you checked for holes in the bulk head etc etc I have the same problem and only fix I have done so far is to pack all behind that area with insulation. I think I will check my pollen filter as I changed it when I got the car and the factors one was not made of plastic on the end. Will report back my findings, going to the dealer tomorrow for a new pollen filter. Quote

Guest DaveW. Posted December 31, 2010 Posted December 31, 2010 Hi, yes i have experienced the same problem. The only fix i found was to drive at under 60mph with the air recirculation on. doesn't really solve the problem i know but it did help with fuelconsumption. Quote
