Hi all. i recently purchased a C5 with built in sat nav (myway) system. it runs of an SD card which did not come with it. It has taken me nearly 2 months to track down some info from Citreon that i can replace it but it will cost the best part of £200 with no delivery date specified.

Now i know its just some files(the maps) loaded onto a 4GB sd card, the card you can buy for £20 so when citreon told me the price i thought it was unrealistic.

if anyone has the same system in there car , obviously with the sd card and can/would copy the files and send them to me via a mail im guessing i could load them onto a new blank SD card and it would work in my sat nav.

of course it goes with out saying there would be some finacial reward for someone so kind enough in taking the time to do this but it realy would be saving money and time and not getting ripped off by citreon.

if you can help me please let me know.

yours.

You might need to think about something called file sharing software. Find a teenager with over 2,000 music albums who has never paid for anything. They can explain it. I'm an old g*t who knows nothing about that sort of thing - I only ever buy Thin Lizzy CDs from Amazon.

Make sure that you do not do anything illegal, of course. Do not breach any copyright or you will be a very naughty person and the Internet Police might have to talk to you or cut off your broadband access.

Also check that there are no CDs or any other software supplied/bundled in your car that might allow to create the necessary on an SD card.

the system does not run from CD's and you dont need file sharing software of course, Just the will to help someone.

The best way Ive found to update my "My Way" is via My link

I copied my original SD card to my computer then using a new 4GB card copied all the data from the original to the new one.

I then downloaded the files I wanted from GPS Underground onto my computer and then onto my new SD card. This included POIs and all speed cameras which are updated monthly.

New maps were added this month and these can also be downloaded from this site.

Its free to join (for a change) and all my downloads have worked with no problem.

Hope that helps

Bob
