Guest afy Posted January 9, 2011 Posted January 9, 2011 Hi all. I have bought a citroen C5 2.0 HDI over the week end from an internet site. Drove home OK.Next morning it did not start, glow plug light comes on and off straight away in the morning. Managed to start it after rolling down the hill.It had new battery, startermotor recently. I have had the glow plugs changed today but still the same problem. It starts sometimes when it is warm but takes a long time and some times it still doesn't start. Help please. It is a 52 reg 2.0HDI lx model Quote
Johndouglas Posted January 9, 2011 Posted January 9, 2011 glow plug light comes on and off straight away in the morning. That's what HDI's do. In fact unless the temperature is below -5C, the engine should start without the plugs. When you first switch on, can you hear the pump in the fuel tank start up? It only runs for a short time. Before you start is the battery voltage showing at least 12.7? Quote
