Guest Chopper Posted January 24, 2011 Posted January 24, 2011 Hello all. I'm thinking of buying an X reg Xsara 2.0HDi and would like to know what price you think it should be worth (roughly obviously) and what problems I should look out for. It has 87,000 miles on the clock, which is pretty good for a diesel, and has a full service history including a timing belt change at 76,000 miles. Basically I've bought a Rover from a small local dealer and it's blown the head gasket within a day of me buying it. While they fix it they've loaned me the above Xsara which I much prefer. I, for some reason, paid £1100 for the Rover (in my defence it was a very tidy '02 car with average milage and full service history) but after the head gasket problem I really don't want it. The problem is that I have no idea what price the Xsara was selling for. Having driven it I'd be pretty happy to take it for the £1100 I paid for the Rover, but I'm sure they'll try and claim it is worth more. So what do you think? Is it worth £1100? Or will they expect more? Quote
Guest TruBlu Posted February 1, 2011 Posted February 1, 2011 G'day, what exact model is it? I usually have a look at autotrader/ebay etc just to get a feel, but i take each car individually,Rather buy a better older one than a newer shagged one.I used to sell them, and really cant remember customers coming in other than for regular servicing etc. Most people will overlook the xsaras for more popular stuff, but for me, its one of life's luvly little secrets! I'm actually looking for one for my partner.I had a few as company cars, loved them, the 110 bhp VTR coupe was amazing, and a 5 dr sx,just lovely. Quote
Guest Chopper Posted February 1, 2011 Posted February 1, 2011 Thanks for the reply, it's the 2.0HDi LX model. I'm not sure if it's the 90 or 110bhp one though. I had a look on Auto Trader, and for that milage it seems like a good deal if I can get it for the £1100 I paid. Quote
Johndouglas Posted February 1, 2011 Posted February 1, 2011 I'm not sure if it's the 90 or 110bhp one though. Look under the bonnet. The 110 has an intercooler. The 90 hasn't.Or look at the VIN number. The 90 has RHY in it. The 110 has RHZ. Quote
