Guest Ern Posted February 4, 2011 Posted February 4, 2011 The VDO Siemens Sat Nav system fitted to my 2002 C5 HPi Exclusive has stopped reading the CD map, displaying a message that the CD is a wrong one and to change it. I have had this car for five years and the Sat Nav system worked quite well until now. During this time it would sometimes display the message at start up and cleared itself soon after. This only happened in the mornings after the car had been lying idle for a days or two. This was found to be due to condensation on the CD making it unreadable and a wipe with a soft cloth would fix it. The car was lying idle for some weeks over the Christmas period and now the Sat Nav displays the above message and it will not clear. Is it likely that the laser lens now has a layer of solidified dust on it? The message being shown indicates the CD is turning OK but not being read. Any suggestions for a fix most welcomed. Quote
