Hi,

At my last MOT test, I was told the headlights were a little low and the inspector said he would adjust them at the end of the test. However in jacking it up and down at the front and rear, when he put the lens in front of the lights he said they were just in. When I got home, I thought I would raise them slightly anyway and switched the headlights on in the garage and marked the beam position on the wall. I turned the adjuster on the offside headlight and it easily adjusted up, but on the nearside light the adjuster just turned and turned without the light moving at all. After a few turns, it became quite tight and the light still did not move so I did not try it further.

I would appreciate any suggestions; possibly the adjuster is not attached to the light or perhaps the light unit has seized in place? I realy don't know.

Thanks for any help given.

Have you been changing bulbs in that headlight as sometimes people push to hard and end up pushing the reflector of its mount. Youl probally need to remove the headlight to check and if necasary replace, It does sound like the reflector has come of the adjusters mind.

Hi Coastline,

I did change the bulb last year so that is feasible. Thanks for the advice.

Best wishes,
