bigdavie Posted June 4, 2007 Posted June 4, 2007 hi folks thank god i found this site ! been looking for one for the c5 for nearly 2 years ! :) any hoo i have an 04 plate 2.0 hdi vtr hatch !love it to bits ! but tell me this i have the computer thingy yeah but cant use any of the functions all the buttons seem to work except the left hand stalk tip button ! you know the one i mean ?? was wondering if this might be my problem ? also anyone notice handbrake cable sleeve wear on the nearside ?? seems my tyre has been rubbing somewhat !also my front pads are going to be needing changed soon do i need to wind back the piston or is it a special tool thats needed or not at all ?last q !! do i have a particulate filter in my car ?thank you !! oh and as im a noob be nice !! :P Quote

If your car is a mark 1 (not sure about mark 2): - the right hand stalk (wipers) end button scrolls through the computer mpg etc.- the front brake pistons need winding in if new pads are fitted - the 2 sides turn in opposite directions. Not done this so do not know how easy it is without the special 2 pronged tool. I was thinking of making one with a bar and 2 small bolts fastened to it to go in the slots in the piston.- particle filter on exhaust only fitted to 2.2 hdi. Quote

iannez Posted June 13, 2007 Posted June 13, 2007 as paul said one winds back clockwise, the other anti-clockwise so you need a tool with a reverse thread to push back the anti-clockwise side. Quote
