On C5s (and probably other Citroens) if the battery is disconnected then reconnected without following the recommended procedure, then all sorts of electrical faults can appear. Although your battery wasn't disconnected, it might well be that because it was flat, the BSI thought it was. Also a weak battery can start the electrics having erratic behaviour.
