  1. Could anybody provide me with a diagram or good quality photo of the front part of a chassis please preferably with dimensions? I need to know where exactly the engine/gearbox mounting holes should be after the previous owner "modified" mine for a GS engine.
  2. Oops, I'll try and link to photobucket then. Even with a lack of photo, has anybody any thoughts?
  3. OK, the Bedouin I've just aquired has already had a GS engine fitted to it along with gearbox and brake calipers. A colleague has advised that although the electrics shouldn't be too bad to adapt, the difference between the brakes isn't worth the hassle. On top of that because the engine is mounted quite far forward, the drive shafts are at an unnatural angle, raising worries about early failure and as can be seen from the photo, the front end sits uncomfortably close to the floor. Is it worth perservering with the GS engine or should I drop an original 602 lump back in? Any thoughts please? http://i525.photobucket.com/albums/cc338/bertiewhite/6835_0.jpg
  4. I checked the site out before I posted on here and quickly checked out again when I saw those prices!! It's for a Bedouin resto project (the previous owner has had a "less than satisfactory" go at it himself) so I'd rather make one myself but wondered if there are any used looms (it doesn't have to be great) out there that I could use as a start. I doubt a standard loom would fit without modification? Thanks anyway
  5. Does anyone have a 2cv wiring loom for sale or failing that, does anyone have plans/dimensions for one so that I can make one myself please?
  6. That's the same info as I found - not a lot unfortunately. Here's some more: http://www.citroenet.org.uk/foreign/africar/africar.html http://www.citroenet.org.uk/foreign/bedouin/bedouin.html so it's worth persevering with then? I like the idea of having a 2CV based camper anyway (I'd toyed with looking for an AK) but if it's rare, then all the better
  7. Hi everyone, I'm new to this forum having just bought what I believe to be a Bedouin. I had two 2CV's and 2 Dyanes when I first learnt to drive and now I have a bit more time on my hands, I decided to get another project. I was looking at several 2Cvs on ebay when I spotted this. It is described as a Bedouin and whilst I had heard of these, I have never actually seen one. On looking at the vehicle, it's obviously 2cv based, but has a GS enjine fitted. Spotting its potential for using as a camper (it has storage compartments in the rear and the roof frame unfolds into a tent at the rear of the vehicle) I thought sod it and so bought it. What i'd like to know is do any of you know anything about them (apart from what I've googled) and is it actually a genuine Bedouin or could it just be something that someone's cobbled together? http://i525.photobucket.com/albums/cc338/bertiewhite/47ce_1.jpg http://i525.photobucket.com/albums/cc338/bertiewhite/56bb_0.jpg http://i525.photobucket.com/albums/cc338/bertiewhite/6835_0.jpg
